Barriers and Facilitators to Automated Patient Self-Scheduling for Health Care Organizations; Scoping Review, Consensus from a Delphi Panel of Key Stakeholders, and Exploratory Case Study

Congratulations to our founder and executive director, Elizabeth Woodcock for successfully defending her dissertation on October 5, therefore receiving her Doctor of Public Health from Johns Hopkins University's Bloomberg School of Public Health. The subject of the research was patient self-scheduling.

Many PAC members contributed directly to the research, to include: Joyce Slater, Vivian Zhao, Donny Nokes, Amy Tirabassi, Kathy Picarelli, Melissa Blakeman, and Kim Sherbooke, of Johns Hopkins Medicine and Johns Hopkins Community Physicians; Adrin Mammen of Montefiore; and the 53 individuals who served as "experts" on the Delphi panel (who must remain anonymous, but a big shout out to you all!).

Thanks to the many members who attended the "public" seminar on October 5; it was reported to be the most attendees ever at a DrPH defense! It was not recorded, however, Elizabeth will repeat the seminar at a PAC pop-up webinar next Tuesday, October 19th at 1 pm EST should you wish to hear it. The lecture will be 30 minutes, with the remaining 30 minutes spent in discussion/Q&A about the research findings. Although it's academic in nature, there are significant managerial implications that will be discussed.

Great job, Dr. Woodcock!
