Experience Level
CAAL is an advanced leadership certification designed for experienced healthcare professionals. Participants should have:
- A minimum of five years of professional healthcare experience
- A minimum of two years in a formal or informal leadership role
- Experience in ambulatory operations, patient access, clinical operations, digital health, quality improvement, or related fields is strongly preferred
Time Commitment
Participants should anticipate approximately 12–17 hours to complete the certification, including 10–15 hours of self-paced education and the leadership reflection project. The course must be completed within 12 months of registration.

Maintenance of Certification
To preserve the integrity of your professional credential, certificants must complete 30 contact hours (3.0 CEUs) every three years, including at least 10 hours through Patient Access Collaborative educational activities. Hours can be earned in many ways, including webinars, symposia, conferences, authorship, teaching, special projects, and relevant coursework. Serving as a cohort leader earns 10 contact hours, while delivering a cohort presentation earns 5 contact hours per presentation. One contact hour equals 0.1 CEU.
